Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol in Raleigh, North Carolina seeks a Transportation Engineer – Roadway to lead design projects for NCDOT and municipal clients, and to prepare plans for projects across the state and beyond.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree, an FE certificate, 8–12 years in roadway design, and strong communication skills; NC PE or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred; OpenRoads experience is a plus.

• Availability and willingness to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design tasks from preliminary to final design for DOT and municipal clients.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, NCDOT, and private sector clients.
• Provide design services for design-bid-build highway projects and alternative delivery.
• Manage client communications and project development through all stages.
• Contribute to technical approach decisions, cost control, and scheduling.
