Job summary

Dewberry seeks a Transportation/Roadway Engineer for our Rancho Cordova or Fresno, CA offices. You will work on all phases of transportation projects for public and private clients, involving road and rail alignments, drainage, and contract documents.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, 5+ years in transportation design, and CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/Civil 3D; familiar with MicroStation/Open Roads). Strong communication and multi-project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• California PE license preferred.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering design experience.
• Strong knowledge of roadway/highway design, grading, drainage, and utility relocation.
• Ability to coordinate with disciplines to complete tasks and projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and familiarity with MicroStation/Open Roads.
• Ability to meet project schedules within budgets and timelines.
• Effective communication with project managers, coworkers, subconsultants, and agencies.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and memorandums.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on all phases of transportation projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
• Prepare contract documents and design plans for roadway projects.
• Coordinate with various disciplines to complete tasks and projects.
• Use AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation/Open Roads to develop designs.
• Communicate with project managers, coworkers, subconsultants, agency review staff, and utilities.
• Prepare technical reports and memorandums.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects to meet schedules and budgets.
