Job summary

Garver in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a Roadway Team Leader to guide transportation design projects, lead a team, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas, or able to obtain reciprocity within three months of hire.
• 10–15+ years of relevant experience.
• Familiar with AASHTO Green Book, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, TxDOT Roadway Design Manual/Standards, ADAAG/PROWAG guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microstation, Geopak, Open Roads Designer or similar software.
• Strong interpersonal and team-first collaboration; effective written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Roadway Team by managing workload and staffing, recruiting, mentoring, and promoting professional development.
• Provide leadership and management of transportation design projects.
• Client management and interaction.
• Develop project and task schedules for active projects.
• Coordinate with subconsultants and internal design teams.
• Oversee plans production for transportation design projects.
• Prepare plans, cost estimates, reports, and calculations for client deliverables.
• Manage master contracts, task orders, and project budgets.
• Prepare scope and fee proposals.
• Lead engagement with design teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Assist Business Team Leader with marketing, proposals, client interactions, and public engagements.
