Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC) to support railroad flagging services for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, and other clients. The role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant railroad experience.

The position involves extensive travel, strong communication, and the ability to complete federal, client, and company training. Compensation ranges from $25 to $37 per hour, with full-time status.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with Class 1 Railroads or equivalent entities.
• Ability to travel for extended periods and complete required training.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide jobsite coordination.
• Provide clear communication with Dispatchers, Train Crews, and other railroad personnel and contractors.
• Lead thorough job briefings with all personnel on each site.
• Enforce railroad, state, and federal policies.
• Identify rule violations and resolve in accordance with policies.
• Submit daily field reports detailing activities.
• Provide On-Track Safety in line with 49 CFR 214.
