Job summary

Egis is seeking a Roadway Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of transportation projects across North Carolina. The role may function as a project manager or task leader for urban and rural roadway work, collaborating with public agencies and internal teams to advance projects from planning through delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in transportation engineering or roadway design, with NC licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months, and familiarity with NCDOT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering or roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain NC licensure within six months.
• Experience with NCDOT projects, policies, standards, and processes.
• Ability to coordinate project teams and manage schedules and deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of transportation projects for NC agencies and publics.
• Coordinate activities among internal design teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, scope management, and milestone tracking.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and project documentation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure quality, on-time deliverables.
