Job summary

Benesch, a growing planning, engineering, and professional services firm, seeks a Roadway Project Engineer in Pottsville, PA. The role focuses on civil transportation design within PennDOT and regional standards, offering hybrid work in a Pennsylvania office environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil transportation design experience, a PA PE license or plan to obtain licensure, a BS in Civil Engineering, and strong client relations skills.

• B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with PennDOT standards and public agencies.

Roadway Project Engineer

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer with our Pottsville Pennsylvania Civil Roadway team. The ideal candidate has experience with civil transportation design and comprehensive knowledge of roadway projects and developing plans in accordance with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) Standards. We currently perform work in PennDOT Districts, 2,3,4,5, 6, & 8.

Location

This position will be a hybrid position in Pottsville, Pennsylvania office.

The Impact You Will Have

• Create and execute project schedules and work plans
• Manage project teams, accountable for budget and schedule
• Mentor junior staff
• Contribute to Division strategic growth initiatives and collaborate on regional growth strategy
• Interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders, including the PennDOT, PTC and County agencies.
• Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
• Ability to identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits
• Interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
• Short progression to management opportunities

What We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation design experience
• Licensed PE in the state of PA or planning to obtain licensure in the near future
• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience working with public agencies, private entities and/or municipalities
• Progressive experience with developing plans, specifications, and submissions per PennDOT standards and requirements
• Traffic engineering experience and interest is a plus
• Excellent communication and client relation skills
• Strong organizational skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
• Advanced use of CADD and assure compliance with project CADD standards
• Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
