Job description

Garver is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in our Tulsa or South Oklahoma City office to continue the tradition of providing reputable service to our clients.

Position Overview

As part of the Transportation Team, this position will work under a project manager and support the team through the following responsibilities:

  1. Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a variety of transportation projects.
  2. Establishing roadway geometric design, including horizontal and vertical alignments and super elevation, using 3D modeling of roadway corridors.
  3. Evaluating drainage needs of open channels and storm sewer systems through hydrology and hydraulic calculations.
  4. Designing permanent and temporary traffic control measures during construction.
  5. Calculating quantities and preparing cost estimates.
  6. Assisting in technical drafting of schematics and plan sets.
Training and Development

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in consulting engineering with a focus on transportation projects.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or Geopak SS4 or Open Roads Designer (ORD).
  • Knowledge of AASHTO, ODOT, and local design criteria and traffic publications.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Oklahoma or ability to obtain reciprocity within three months.
