Job summary

City of Irving seeks a street/traffic maintenance worker to assist with installation and removal of roadway markings and signs, operate equipment, and perform general maintenance. Duties include clearing vegetation, placing cones and barricades, and servicing tools and vehicles. A Texas driver’s license and basic computer skills are required; six months related experience is needed.

Normal hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Six months of related experience required.
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license.
• Ability to read and write at a level sufficient for job performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and removal of roadway pavement markings and traffic signs.
• Operate equipment such as thermoplastic machine, hand-propelled paint striper, grinder and water-jet blasting equipment.
• Install, maintain and repair traffic control devices; place traffic cones and barricades.
