Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public.
• Experience operating a truck, tractor or heavy equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass and weeds with tractors and gang mowers.
• Perform landscape maintenance and tree cutting along highways.
• Operate single-axle dump trucks hauling materials.
• Use power tools and small hand tools to repair highways.
• Load, unload and stack salt, sand, cement, chemicals, etc.
• Pick up litter and assist with road signs and traffic cones.
• Flag traffic and set up work zones for safety.
• Respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Assist crew in ice and snow removal operations.
• Perform regular servicing on assigned equipment.
