Columbus Consolidated Government seeks a Street Maintenance Worker to perform street maintenance and repair duties. You will construct and repair driveways, apply asphalt and tar, operate rollers and trucks, and ensure safe traffic flow at work sites.

The position requires knowledge of street maintenance practices, proper use of hand tools, and the ability to read and write; a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred/ required) is necessary.

Qualifikationen

• Sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to major duties, usually via an apprenticeship or similar position.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; CDL may be required.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations; good communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Constructs or repairs driveways, speed bumps, spill ways, cuts, overlays, edge ruts, and potholes.
• Sets up work related signs and traffic cones; directs traffic at work sites.
• Spreads, smoothes, and shapes asphalt.
• Operates wheelbarrow to transport asphalt; applies asphalt as appropriate.
• Loads and unloads truck with proper materials.
• Applies tar.
• Operates roller and dump truck.
• Cleans truck and other equipment.
• Grades ground for concrete work; sets up concrete forms.
• Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of the fleet yard.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
