Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) for Huron County. The role supports the safety and upkeep of roads, including flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repairs, litter pickup, and mowing.

The selected candidate will train to obtain a CDL if not licensed and perform snow and ice operations. This is a full-time position with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule under OCSEA, with salaries of $21.48/hr (HMW1) or $22.29/hr (HT1).

Qualifications

• Highway Maintenance experience or training.
• CDL with tanker endorsement required or willing to obtain.
• Ability to operate basic equipment and perform maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks: flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, mowing.
• Conduct snow and ice operations as needed.
• Work safely to protect the public and maintain road conditions.
