Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Section Supervisor I for the Borden County Maintenance Office in Gail, TX. The role oversees contracted maintenance, inspects roadwork, and coordinates emergency responses to weather events impacting area roadways.

Requires high school diploma and 7 years of roadway maintenance or related experience; CDL-A is preferred and must be obtained within 120 days. Salary ranges from 65,104 to 106,634 with on-site duties.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equivalent.
• Experience: 7 years roadway maintenance or construction-related work.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license; CDL-A within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Administers and inspects contracted maintenance activities.
• Inspects road conditions, work-in-progress and work completed by crews and contractors.
• Plans, coordinates and implements emergency response to inclement weather, flooding, accidents and hazardous material spills affecting area roadways.
• Plans, schedules and coordinates work project needs including personnel, equipment and materials with the Area Engineer.
