GDOT is seeking an entry-level professional to support maintenance, construction, planning, and related areas under supervision. The role involves guiding a routine maintenance crew, inspections, safety enforcement, and emergency response on Georgia state routes.

The ideal candidate has a related degree or equivalent experience, a Class B CDL, and the ability to supervise and communicate effectively with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Associate’s degree in a related field or one year of experience at position equivalent
• Four (4) years minimum of proven maintenance or construction experience
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License
• MSD Level 1-4 completion
• One year experience as a lead worker or supervisor
• Experience with maintenance forms/reports and preventive maintenance guidelines
• Training in GAMS/AGILE Assets
• Current flagger training and traffic control knowledge
• Familiar with MSDS and safety procedures
• Experience operating maintenance equipment (backhoes, tractors, forklifts, etc.)
• Ability to gather data on labor, equipment, and materials
• Computer literacy and ability to follow procedures
• Ability to supervise others and work without direct supervision
• Strong math for measuring volumes and inventory

Responsabilités

• Supervises and guides routine maintenance crew assignments
• Monitors crew performance and safety procedures
• Plans, coordinates, and directs crew activities
• Maintains positive relations with the traveling public
• Completes monthly/semi-monthly documents and reports
• Operates crew equipment as needed to complete work
• Performs regular inspections for maintenance and safety
• Responds to emergencies on the state route system
