Job summary

Navajo County is seeking a skilled worker for maintenance, repair, and construction of roads and highways. The role involves operating light to heavy equipment such as dozers, graders, and snow plows, and requires attention to safety and efficiency in busy road projects.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
One year experience operating light to heavy highway construction equipment.
One year highway construction/maintenance experience.
Must obtain Class B CDL within 90 days of hire.
Must obtain traffic flagger certification within first 9 months.
Maintain a good driving record and be able to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of construction/maintenance equipment for road care and construction.
Perform routine and manual labor, including heavy lifting for road maintenance.
Make minor repairs, including welding, on vehicles and equipment.
Flag traffic and set up signs/barricades to protect work zones.
Maintain rights of way free from brush, debris, and hazards.
