Lochmueller Group is seeking an experienced professional civil engineering leader to serve as the Roadway Division Manager for our Roadway Design team in Illinois.

About this role:

The Roadway Division Manager will oversee all projects and staff within the roadway design team for Illinois, ensuring operational strategies and financial decisions align with the firm's overall goals. Responsibilities include mentoring team managers, driving project profitability and quality, developing new clients, and expanding the division's footprint in Illinois offices. This high-impact role involves fostering a positive work environment and collaborating with leadership to grow the firm's market share in the state.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Division Leadership: Develop operational strategies, enforce accountability, and drive team performance.
  2. Operations and Quality: Manage division activities, monitor project progress, perform QC/QA, and report on trends.
  3. Project Management: Ensure timely, within-budget project delivery; lead major projects; perform QC/QA.
  4. Staff Management and Development: Lead staffing, recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff training.
  5. Client Relationships and Business Development: Develop growth strategies, pursue opportunities, and foster strong client relationships.
  6. Financial Oversight: Manage division budgets, improve productivity, and control costs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 20+ years of progressive roadway/highway design experience with leadership skills
  • Extensive experience with IDOT and Illinois municipalities
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Strong analytical, communication, and business skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
