HNTB's Lake Mary office is seeking a Roadway Engineer III to join our team and work on complex Florida projects for FDOT and local governments. You will lead roadway design, cost estimates, corridor modeling, public engagement, and feasibility studies, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, providing guidance to junior staff and advancing complex transportation solutions for a broad client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience with roadway design and project development is preferred.
• PE license is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work within the schedule and hours provided.
• Assist in the development of project specifications.
• Develop discipline specific engineering project elements and deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
• Coordinate and support project team members across disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Collaborate on multi-discipline projects and ensure quality control reviews.
• Assist with schedule planning and workload distribution within discipline.

HNTB's Lake Mary office is seeking a Roadway Engineer III to join our team that works on some of the most complex projects in Florida for FDOT and a variety of local government clients. We are dedicated to enhancing our communities, solving infrastructure challenges for our client.

As a Roadway Engineer III, you will coordinate and deliver transportation engineering projects within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. These projects can range from small intersection and multimodal corridor improvement projects to large interchanges, multimodal improvements, low impact bridge construction projects and feasibility projects. Duties include roadway design, development of cost estimates, specifications, corridor modelling, public engagement, and feasibility and express design development. What You'll Do:

• Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
• Assist in the development of project specifications.
• Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
• Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
• Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
• Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
• Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

• Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work.
• Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.

What We Prefer:

• FDOT Experience.
• PE license.
• Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
