Job summary

Join Burgess & Niple as a Roadway Engineer in Tempe, Arizona. B&N Roadway Engineer Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering design and production of roadway projects for public agencies including Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Maricopa County, and others. ADOT project experience is preferred.
  • Prepare construction document deliverables including plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Maintain quality control of the work products and successfully complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with professional engineers within B&N’s Arizona operations and across the firm.
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout project delivery.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring for developing staff.
  • Participate in strategic business planning for our Arizona operations, development of client relationship assignments, and assessment of new business opportunities.
  • Represent B&N in meetings.
  • Monitor project performance indicators, including schedules and budgets.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering programs.
  • PE registration in the State of Arizona required or the ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience.
  • Proven project delivery with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs.
  • Ability to work remotely based on business operations and the needs of the firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with CADD software (i.e. OpenRoads Designer) expected for work with Arizona public agencies.
