Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support roadway design tasks through collaboration with project teams and mentorship from senior engineers.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure designs meet schedule and budget expectations.
• Gain experience and grow into a Project Manager role through mentorship and increasing responsibility.
• Prepare timely and accurate design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents per standards.
• Assist in permit applications and submittal packages for regulatory review.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, right-of-way staff, utilities, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Support development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

We are looking for a Roadway Design Engineer in Lexington, Frankfort, or Louisville KY with the opportunity to work on signature projects and collaborate with other design staff. Key Responsibilities

• Support the completion of roadway design tasks through collaboration with project teams and mentorship from senior engineers
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure designs meet schedule and budget expectations
• Gain valuable experience with the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role through mentorship and increasing responsibility
• Prepare timely and accurate design drawings, details, presentations, and construction documents in accordance with applicable standards
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and submittal packages for review by regulatory agencies
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, right of way staff, utility providers, project stakeholders, and contractors under the direction of senior staff
• Support the development and tracking of project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure project objectives are met

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• A minimum of 6 years experience in all technical aspects of roadway design
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer preferred
• PE Certification is preferred
