Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Roadway EIT to support projects in the Gulf Region. The ideal candidate will collect and analyze data for project plans and assist in the preparation of engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates.

A BS in Civil Engineering is required, along with 2–4 years of experience. Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer is preferred. The role offers key benefits such as an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

Job description

We are currently searching for an experienced Roadway EIT to support our Gulf Region located in Brentwood/Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, TN. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Tennessee if out of state.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collect and analyze data for inclusion in project plans and reports.
• Assist and prepare project plans using OpenRoads Designer.
• Contribute to the preparation and/or modification of engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of project construction quantities and cost estimates.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of project specifications.
• Review project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of project schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Have

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• EIT (E.I) Certification is desired but not required.
• 2–4 years of experience.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer is preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state‑specific guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license.
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
