Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated transportation engineering intern to join our team for Summer 2027. The position offers hands‑on experience on roadway projects under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.

Interns will work a 40-hour week over a period from mid‑May to the end of August, with a dedicated supervisor and planned activities. Responsibilities include assisting in construction plans, calculations, CAD drawings, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• This is an entry level position with no prior work experience required.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET‑Accredited College Engineering Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of construction plans for transportation and roadway projects
• Support engineering calculations, interpretation of drawings/specifications, and quantity take‑offs
• Help design and prepare construction drawings for various transportation projects using CADD software
• Contribute to the development of engineering reports, cost estimates, and project documentation
• Assist in coordinating work between multiple engineering disciplines
• Participate in proposal preparation and other project support tasks
• Gain exposure to industry standards, design practices, and project delivery methods

Education

ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program

GPA 3.0 or higher
