AtkinsRéalis in Raleigh, NC seeks a Roadway Design Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support the design and delivery of roadway projects across North Carolina. You will assist with construction plans, reports, and documentation while learning to apply NCDOT standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, exposure to the full project lifecycle, and hands-on use of industry software in a team-oriented environment. No experience is required for enrolled students.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• No prior experience required, currently enrolled in degree program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and delivery of roadway projects across North Carolina.
• Assist with construction plans, reports, and project documentation.
• Learn and apply NCDOT roadway design standards and engineering best practices.
• Use engineering software to develop and revise project deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers in a team-focused environment.
• Gain exposure to project development from preliminary design through final plan production.
