Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a Highway Design Engineer for our Virginia Beach office to perform civil roadway design, analyze survey data, and coordinate with project teams to meet schedules and client specifications. The position requires a ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and 2–5 years of related experience; compensation is $80,000–$110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• 2–5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with local county/state projects is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and geologic data to plan projects.
• Layout highway and roadway design elements and drainage features.
• Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
