Job summary

ATCS, Inc. is seeking Inspectors and Senior Inspectors to join our Construction Services team in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas.

You will perform transportation construction inspections on highways, bridges, and facilities, write daily progress reports, and oversee contractor activities to ensure safety and contract compliance. The role requires experience with VDOT specs, OSHA safety training, and field testing of materials; you will report to the Project Engineer and aid in pay

Qualifications

• 3–6 years' roadway inspection experience for Inspector candidates.
• 6+ years' experience for Senior Inspector candidates.
• Knowledge of VDOT Road and Bridges specs and standards.
• OSHA safety requirements on road and bridge construction sites.
• Knowledge of mathematics to include algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Proficiency in field engineering tests and inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect transportation construction on highways, bridges, environmental, traffic, and facilities projects.
• Write daily progress reports and document field activities.
• Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents and safety.
• Perform field tests on concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA.
• Report on-site activities and calculate pay quantities to Project Engineer.
