Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Summer Internship in Wichita, KS for currently enrolled engineering students. The 12-week program starts May 18, 2027, with a focus on developing technical, social, and ethical skills through real project exposure alongside senior staff.

Interns gain hands-on experience in civil engineering tasks, field work, preliminary design calculations, and documentation, with mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation May 2028 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and show interest in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analyses.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and policies.
