Spicer Group is seeking a talented CAD Designer to join our Transportation Service Line. You will create and maintain 3D roadway models using Civil 3D or Open Roads Designer, collaborating with engineers to ensure designs meet specifications.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and mentoring junior staff. This on-site position supports highway projects across Michigan with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley ORD Open Roads Designer, or equivalent CAD software.
• Strong understanding of roadway design principles and construction processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and highly technical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 3D roadway models using CAD software.
• Review plans, identify plan issues, and prepare RFI documentation.
• Interpret design intent and make design recommendations.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and project quantity summaries with professional presentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure accurate models.
• Maintain and update models throughout construction as field changes occur.
• Review and verify design data for compliance with specifications and standards.
• Mentor junior technicians and designers on modeling best practices.
