Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a Roadside Technician to serve on semi-truck fleets. Technicians are dispatched to customers' locations to repair or replace tires, typically roadside.

Training will be provided, and candidates must be prepared for on-call duties. This role includes shifts with after-hours service responsibilities, a premium pay rate for those calls, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Basic requirements include a valid driver's license and 21+ years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience isn’t required for this position; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire.
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
• Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements including proper PPE usage.
• Assist with mounting orders, keeping the shop clean and organized as needed.
• Respond to after-hours service requests during on-call periods with a premium pay rate and guaranteed minimums.

Job description

The starting pay for this position is $18.00/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: “An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets”. To elaborate a bit further; when a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and other general duties as needed.

Experience isn't required for this position. You will be trained in any skills required

Shift Information:

This position includes participation in a mandatory on-call rotation. During an assigned on-call period, Technicians are expected to respond to after-hours service requests—including evenings and weekends with a high rate of acceptance. All after-hours service calls are compensated at a premium pay rate with guaranteed minimums.
