Job summary

Resource Transport LLC (RT) is seeking a Tire Technician to install, repair, balance, and maintain tires on Kenworth and Freightliner tractors and related equipment. This role also supports roadside service to minimize downtime and requires strong safety practices and attention to detail.

The Tire Technician will work in both shop and field environments, handling tire changes, wheel balancing, and inspections while ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; vocational tire service training preferred.
• Experience as Tire Technician with heavy trucks or commercial vehicles.
• Familiarity with Kenworth and Freightliner equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of tire safety standards, mounting and balancing techniques, and tire inspection procedures.
• Experience with roadside service and outdoor work.
• Must provide own tools and maintain professional appearance per policy.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, repair, balance, rotate, and maintain tires on tractor equipment.
• Perform tire changes, puncture repairs, wheel balancing, and assist with alignments.
• Conduct routine tire inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide roadside tire service and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Operate tire machines, balancers, air tools, jacks, and related equipment safely.
• Manage and track tire inventory and usage documentation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate service records for tire work performed.
• Keep shop and service truck clean, safe, and organized.
• Communicate tire conditions and repair timelines with drivers and dispatch.
