Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an operator to perform herbicide application and vegetation management for roadway and right-of-way maintenance. Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating mobile equipment.
• A current herbicide Equipment Applicator License issued by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture is REQUIRED.
• A Class A CDL license is required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates spray trucks and specialized herbicide equipment to control roadside vegetation along highways, bridges, drainage structures, and rights-of-way
• Mixes and applies herbicides at proper rates for targeted vegetation
• Performs calibration of spray equipment to ensure proper application rates
• Maintains accurate chemical inventory and daily application logs in compliance with DOTD and LDAF requirements
• Enters daily work activities into Agile system
