A Day in the Life of a Roadside Assistance Technician

As a member of our Emergency Roadside Assistance team, you'll be considered an 'Everyday Hero' by providing peace of mind to members through vehicle problem identification and navigation, delivering services to get them safely back on the road.

Responsibilities

1. Operate service trucks and equipment to assist AAA members and motorists.
2. Use GPS and maps to locate member breakdowns.
3. Perform vehicle services such as fueling, battery testing/replacement, jumpstarts, lockout services, and tire changes/inflation.
4. Arrange for or tow vehicles when necessary.
5. Ensure 100% member satisfaction through excellent customer service.
6. Offer value-added services like On-the-Go Tow or battery tests/sales.
7. Support at special events such as parades and travel shows.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting hourly rate of $21.00 in South Carolina, with overtime potential and shift premiums.
• $1,000 sign-on bonus (split at 90 and 180 days), with additional bonuses for attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age of 21 with minimal driving infractions.
• Experience with tablets/electronic devices, strong customer service skills, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and pass background and health screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vehicle servicing experience, tow truck or roadside service experience, and ability to operate towing equipment safely.

Work Environment

Primarily roadside work with exposure to hazards and temperature extremes, less than 5% time in a temperature-controlled office.
