A day in the life of a Roadside Assistance Technician

As part of our Emergency Roadside Assistance team, you will assist members by identifying vehicle issues and providing services to get them safely back on the road.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Operate service trucks and equipment to assist AAA members and other motorists
• Use GPS and maps to locate breakdowns
• Provide services such as fueling, battery testing/replacement, jumpstarts, lockout, and tire changes
• Tow vehicles when necessary
• Ensure member satisfaction through excellent customer service
• Offer additional services like On-the-Go Tow or battery sales
• Support at special events

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits:

• Starting hourly rate of $23.00 in Michigan, with potential for higher based on experience
• Overtime at time-and-a-half
• Shift premiums for evening and overnight hours
• $1,000 sign-on bonus (split at 90 and 180 days)
• Quarterly attendance bonus

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license
• Age 21 or older
• Valid driver’s license with minimal infractions
• Experience with tablets/electronic devices
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Successful completion of background checks and health screenings

Preferred:

• Vehicle servicing experience
• Tow truck or roadside service experience
• Experience operating towing equipment or commercial vehicles

Work Environment

Primarily out of the office, providing roadside service with exposure to road hazards and weather conditions. Less than 5% time in a temperature-controlled office.
