AtkinsRéalis seeks an entry-level Roads & Highways Civil Engineer to join the team in Denver, CO. The role focuses on planning, design, and production of engineering drawings, with supervision and opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

You will conduct investigations, perform routine calculations, and contribute to project feasibility studies under mentoring, while developing documentation and reports for client review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer).
  • Strong communication skills including active listening; willingness to ask questions.

Responsibilities

Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roads & Highways Civil Engineer to join our Roads & Highways Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Denver, Colorado.

Your role
  • Assist in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings. May supervise the production of these drawings. Carry out specific assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
  • Participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
  • Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the close review of a more experienced professional.
  • Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe relatively simple construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
About you
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Completion of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer (strongly preferred)
    Demonstrate strong communication skills including active listening
    Willingness to ask questions
  • PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: E.I. or E.I.T. (or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)

Compensation and Working Conditions

Expected compensation range is between $70,000 - $83,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
