Job summary

State of Louisiana—Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development seeks a dedicated maintenance supervisor for St. Landry Parish. You will oversee a crew performing road maintenance, drainage work, and equipment operation, under the Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent. CDL‑A is required; prior supervisory experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair of roads, bridges, or facilities.
• Four years of experience in operation or maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains and assists a maintenance crew in routine maintenance tasks such as pothole patching and drainage work.
• Manages equipment and ensures safe operation and upkeep to minimize downtime.
• Oversees safety gear, signs work sites, and prepares daily work or incident reports.
• Conducts performance evaluations and counsels subordinates.
