Responsibilities

• Roadhouse Mercantile Ambassador demonstrates kindness and inclusion in daily actions.
• Be a role model for authenticity, kindness, and positive influence with visitors and volunteers.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down continental breakfast for Roadhouse guests.
• Share product knowledge to facilitate purchases and answer questions.
• Count cash drawer and prepare end-of-day deposits.
• Maintain store appearance, stock, cleanliness and organization.
• Process purchases, exchanges and returns; manage merchandising displays.
• Conduct regular inventory and restock Mercantile and Roadhouse departments.

Job description

Location: 30 N 300 W Kanab, Utah 84741. Hiring Range: $15.80 per hour to $18.00 per hour. Shift: part-time hours are Saturday 7am-5pm and Sunda/Monday 7am-4pm.

Position Summary

The Roadhouse Ambassador is an integral part of our visitor’s experience, providing product knowledge and ideas while providing excellent customer service. The perfect person for this role is bright, energetic, and great with customers. This person understands the link between our culture, brand promise, and mission as it relates to the products we promote and sell at the Roadhouse Mercantile and the support it brings to the overall mission of Best Friends.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Roadhouse Mercantile Ambassador demonstrate kindness and the Golden Rule in our everyday actions by practicing inclusion and respect for every person for the value they bring to the table.
• Be a role model for the spirit of authenticity, kindness and positive influence with each other, our visitors, and volunteers as well as to the animals every day.
• This includes listening, being present, being supportive of others and demonstrating compassion and curiosity in conflict.
• Orders product and assists in setting up and taking down Continental breakfast for Roadhouse guest.
• Share product knowledge and answer questions to help facilitate purchases.
• Count cash drawer at the beginning or end of the day to ensure accuracy and adequate change and prepare end-of-day cash deposit.
• Maintain store appearance by keeping it stocked, cleaned, and organized.
• Process merchandise purchases, exchanges, and returns.
• Set merchandise displays, and implementation of strategies to increase sales.
• Conduct inventory on a regular schedule.
• Reorder and restock supplies for Mercantile other departments at Roadhouse.
• Support Roadhouse Front desk, Sanctuary gift store and Sanctuary Visitor Experience division as assigned.

• Ability to work with distractions in a busy work environment.
• Proficient computer skills a must.
• Microsoft Office and Google Docs preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in close proximity of coworkers behind desk.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
