Job summary

Transdev North America in Romulus, MI is hiring a Road Supervisor to ensure on-time routes while enforcing safety procedures. This role focuses on daily scheduling, driver support, and coordination with local management to maintain service quality.

You will train drivers, investigate incidents, monitor safety performance, and stay compliant with DOT/FTA rules. Flexible scheduling, weekend coverage, and potential shifts may be required to meet operations demands.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
• DOT drug testing and compliance knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Schedule daily routes and monitor driver performance with management.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations and prepare safety reports.
• Develop and conduct driver training and safety courses.
• Observe drivers on the road and document safety violations.
• Act as liaison between drivers, customers, and the organization on concerns.
• Ensure compliance with legal, employment and labor policy requirements.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance and testing.
• May periodically drive routes.
• Maintain flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Transdev in Romulus, MI via Delta Detroit Airlines is hiring a Road Supervisor. Road Supervisors ensure all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $19.50/hour – maximum $24.25/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day to day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
• Liaison between drivers and both the customers and organization in customer service concerns
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance - drug testing and recordkeeping.
• May drive routes periodically.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require. Must be willing and able to cover shifts on short notice when operational needs arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License or able to obtain
• Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred
• Computer literate - basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
