Job summary

City of Indianapolis is seeking a tire and road service technician to perform tire repair and replacement on City vehicles and equipment in the garage and on the road.

You will operate tire changing equipment, balance machines, and related repair tools, inspecting tire/wheel assemblies, completing work orders, and maintaining safety standards in varying weather conditions. This role requires five years of tire repair experience and the ability to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• Five years work-related tire repair experience.
• Knowledge of tires, tubes and rims.
• Knowledge of repair procedures and techniques for City equipment.

Responsibilities

• Change and repair tires on large construction equipment, trucks, and cars.
• Operate tire changing equipment and wheel balance machines.
• Inspect tires and rims and apply proper repair techniques.
• Process road service work orders and maintain safety compliance.
• Attend trainings as needed.
• Assist others in the tire garage when not on road service.
