Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a skilled Road Service Utility Truck Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel and gasoline vehicles, including bucket trucks, in a field service environment across client sites.

Some overnight travel is required. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairing hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems, and maintaining thorough service records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel or truck mechanic with hands-on experience on buckets and hydraulic systems.
• CDL with relevant endorsements required or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel/gasoline vehicles and heavy equipment (dump trucks, bucket trucks, utility vehicles).
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and braking systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (oil changes, tire service, lubrication) to maximize fleet longevity.
• Use diagnostic software and manuals to identify malfunctions and determine actions.
• Perform welding and fabrication for repairs and modifications as needed.
• Maintain accurate service records and logs; ensure safety standards compliance.
• Daily duties may include some overnight travel to projects.
