Job summary

HMD Trucking Inc. in the Chicago area is seeking two Roadside Assistants to join a team that values safety, reliability, and responsive service. You will handle data entry, communications, and coordinate on‑road repairs for trucks and trailers.

The role requires two years of knowledge of tractor/trailer functions, basic mechanical understanding, and strong English, with evening hours Monday through Saturday.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tractor, trailer functions: 2 years required.
• Basic knowledge of truck & semi mechanical functions: 2 years required.
• Previous maintenance or breakdown assistance experience: 2 years required.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
• Ability to follow instructions and deliver quality results.
• Past work experience that is relevant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties include data entry and daily phone and email communication.
• Responding to incoming calls and handling appropriately.
• Answer calls and accommodate drivers with repairs that truck or trailer needs on the road.
• Assisting drivers on the road with truck breakdowns over the phone.
• Organizing on the road assistance with vendors throughout the US.
• Providing coverage for colleagues when needed.
• Various other support functions as assigned.
