Job summary

Walmart in LaGrange, GA is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to keep our transportation fleet safe and road-ready. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop equipment, following DOT guidelines and company policies.

This hands-on role offers steady work and the chance to contribute to uptime and compliance. Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license and DOT inspection qualifications; preferred candidates

Qualifications

• Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of brake systems (air/ABS/disc) and tire service.
• Ability to follow DOT guidelines and shop safety procedures.
• Skill in diagnosing needs, selecting parts, and documenting work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections and repairs on Walmart equipment.
• Create and process work orders, identify parts, and select repair solutions.
• Maintain logs and documentation of maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety and DOT requirements.
