Qualifications

• Prior asphalt paving or construction experience preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds.
• Comfortable with physical labor and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surface preparation for paving (sweeping, cleaning, tack coat).
• Shovel, rake, and level hot mix asphalt.
• Operate hand tools and small equipment (e.g., plate compactors, tampers, brooms).
• Feed asphalt to the paving machine and maintain a consistent workflow.
• Ensure proper compaction and smoothness of asphalt during and after application.
• Maintain a clean and safe work zone by following safety guidelines.
• Direct traffic near, in, or around work zones.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment at the job site.
