County of Lapeer is seeking a Police Deputy to protect lives and property across the county. Under supervision, you will patrol, investigate crimes, respond to domestic and other disputes, and support court security and transportation of detainees.

You will process evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare detailed reports for court proceedings. The role requires valid Michigan licensure and certification, with opportunities to assist in specialized assignments and training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in police administration or criminal justice.
• Two years’ experience may substitute for education.
• Certification by the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Training Council.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License.

Responsabilités

• Patrol the county enforcing traffic and other laws; issue citations and assist motorists.
• Investigate crimes, interview victims and witnesses, collect evidence and photograph scenes.
• Respond to incidents, provide first aid, direct traffic and coordinate with dispatch.
• Prepare detailed reports for prosecutors and court appearances; provide security at court.
• May serve on specialized teams and participate in warrants processing and extraditions.
