Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with Police Academy training.

• P.O.S.T. certification and standard sobriety-related certifications required (Intoxilyzer 5000, Radar Ops, SFST).

Responsibilities

• Patrols an assigned area; answers complaints and requests for assistance.
• Investigates crimes, interviews witnesses, questions suspects, and makes arrests.
• Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; maintains logs and reports.
• Provides first aid/CPR when needed.
• Educates the community on crime prevention and participates in community events.
• Assists jailers and processes offenders; conducts vehicle inspections.

Education

1 year previous experience or training in basic law enforcement

Valid Georgia driver’s license

P.O.S.T. certification

Radar Operations certification
