Overview

Four-day work weeks! Work outside!

NOTE: LOCATION: This position is located in the Laramie River Valley, 2 hours west of Fort Collins, CO.

Larimer County Road and Bridge is looking for hardworking, motivated individuals to join our team. The Department is responsible for operating and maintaining the transportation system in Larimer County. The Seasonal Road Maintenance positions are vital to meeting this responsibility.

Larimer County values its seasonal employees and aims to create an environment for gaining knowledge and experience. Join our team and see your hard work contribute to maintaining nearly 1000 miles of roadway and drainage structures.

The typical schedule is 7am-5:30pm Monday to Thursday in Summer, and 7am-3:30pm Monday to Friday in Winter. Applicants should be reliable, punctual, and able to qualify for a CDOT Flagging Certificate. A valid Driver's License is required, and a road driving test will be conducted. Employees must provide safety-toe shoes. Medical insurance may be available.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing various tasks under supervision, including operating equipment like rollers, power brooms, farm tractors, and similar for roadway maintenance.
  • Using hand tools such as shovels, picks, asphalt rakes, chainsaws, weed eaters, blowers, brooms, and crack seal squeegees.
  • Operating commercial motor vehicles and heavy equipment as assigned.
  • Performing physical outdoor labor in all weather conditions, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Related experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado Flaggers Certification within two weeks.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Safety-toe shoes.
  • Possession of a class ‘B' or ‘A' CDL without restrictions, and ability to obtain a Tank endorsement.
