Job summary

The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician in Havre. The role includes operating trucks and heavy equipment for highway maintenance, culvert work, brush control, and roadway repairs. A career ladder with advancement opportunities is available.

Qualifications

• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) required.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and heavy equipment for highway maintenance tasks.
• Perform culvert placement and cleaning, landslide removal, crack/mastic sealing, and guardrail or sign installation.
• Carry out road repair, vegetation management, pavement markings, and snow/ice control.
• Be prepared to advance through a career ladder with opportunity for promotion.
