Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
Valid Driver's License required.
Pass CDL exam (tanker endorsement) before hire; must pass driving portion with Class B and EI/NI in 60 days.
Complete a work simulation and medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

Maintains state highway systems, including filling joints/cracks and potholes; flagging and directing traffic; setting up traffic control devices.
Maintains, cleans, and repairs state highway facilities, signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, and equipment.
Operates vehicles to transport staff/equipment and plow snow; uses tractors, mowers, augers, backhoes, forklifts, and trucks.
May repair bridge decks and drains; clean bridge bents/caps from ladders or scaffolding.
May install signs and perform sign post work, and repair signs.
