Job summary

Tillamook County seeks a skilled Road Maintenance Worker to operate a range of road upkeep equipment and support maintenance projects throughout the county. The position requires a Class A commercial driver's license and the ability to work in varied weather conditions.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience with medium-sized road equipment, pass background and drug screening, and meet all licensing and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in the operation of medium-sized road maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt hotbox and related equipment.
• Use backhoe, bucket truck, dump truck, excavator up to 30,000 pounds, loader and mower as needed.
• Perform flagging in work zones and place/remove traffic control signs.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Assist with manual road maintenance tasks and debris clearance.
• Ensure safety by following procedures and maintaining clear communication with the public.
