Qualifications

• Willingness to perform strenuous manual work and follow instructions.
• Ability to work safely around a remediation construction site with multiple equipment and personnel.
• Knowledge of proper use of hand tools and power equipment.
• Ability to meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
• 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operator (HAZWOPER) training preferred.
• HAZWOPER refresher training preferred (8 hours).
• Current, clear motor vehicle record preferred.
• Certified first aid and CPR training preferred.
• Residence within 50 miles of project site preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and other material conveyances.
• Excavate and fill trenches and ditches; set braces to support excavations.
• Erect scaffolding on project site.
• Move supplies by wheelbarrow or hand truck.
• Stack materials for storage or binning.
• Collect refuse and salvageable materials.
• Dig, fill, and tamp earth excavations.
• Level ground with hand or power tools.
• Clean culverts and ditches.
• Cut trees and brush.
• Operate manual and power equipment (e.g., lawnmowers).
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and machinery safely.
• Spread sand and salt on icy roads and walkways.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and safe job site daily.
• Follow safety policies and report issues to Foreman/HR.
• Assist site personnel in safe execution of project work.
• Patch asphalt with hot and cold mix; excavate and fill trenches.
• Shovel bituminous concrete into construction area.
• Ensure site remains free of hazards.
