Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Road Foreman with leadership responsibilities over locomotive engineers and conductors. You will oversee train operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, manage certifications and training, and coordinate with the Road Trainmaster for efficient service delivery.

Requirements include experience in train operations, crew management, and knowledge of CFR rules. The role may involve scheduling, performance management, and budget oversight across assigned territory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified class I train service engineer
• 2+ years operating experience with train service or road foreman
• PTC Qualified
• Qualified on physical characteristics of territory
• Experience in train or passenger service

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage locomotive engineers and conductors, including interviewing and onboarding
• Oversee train operations and crew performance with Road Trainmaster
• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance
• Manage certification and training programs
• Promote and enforce safety initiatives
• Administer operational reporting and budget management
