Job summary

Quality Counts (QC) is seeking a Field Operations Technician-Transportation to support traffic data collection projects in the Baton Rouge area. This part-time role is outdoors, hands-on, and requires reliability, basic computer data tasks, and the ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities include installing and retrieving equipment across LA and neighboring states, working independently, and occasionally traveling to other projects.

Qualifications

• Has relevant labor, field, construction, installation, maintenance, delivery, landscaping, warehouse, transportation, or other hands-on work experience.
• Enjoys physical work and outdoor conditions.
• Flexible part-time schedule: ~10–15 hours/week in slow season and 30+ hours including overtime in peak season.
• Can commit to limited time off during May and October, the two busiest field seasons.
• Reliable commute to Baton Rouge, LA is required; starts from office/warehouse.
• Willing to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders (~15 ft), and safely operate power tools.
• Comfortable using a computer for data downloading tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive across Louisiana and neighboring states installing and retrieving traffic data collection equipment.
• Install video detection cameras and pneumatic road tubes.
• Work independently in the field following project instructions and safety procedures.
• Occasionally join teammates in nearby communities for surveys and parking studies.
• Travel locally and, when opportunities arise, to projects in other parts of the country.
• Download collected data from traffic equipment to internal computer systems.
