Job summary

EHC Construction is seeking a Road Construction Superintendent to lead on-site execution of heavy civil projects, roadway, site work, and excavation in the Sarasota/Naples/Okeechobee region. This role requires hands-on leadership of diverse crews and subcontractors to hit milestones.

You will supervise field operations, manage schedules and logistics, ensure quality against blueprints, enforce safety and regulatory compliance, and document progress daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex civil engineering blueprints and site layouts.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate field crews and diverse subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
• Develop lookahead schedules and coordinate the delivery of heavy equipment, tools, and materials (asphalt, gravel, pipe).
• Inspect work in progress to ensure it conforms to blueprints, technical specifications, and municipal codes.
• Facilitate site-specific safety programs, conduct weekly toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.
• Maintain detailed logs of workforce numbers, weather conditions, equipment usage, and project progress.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for project managers, engineers, clients, and local officials.

Job Summary

The Road Construction Superintendent - Road & Civil Work is the primary on-site leader responsible for the daily execution of heavy civil projects, roadway, site work, and excavation for the Sarasota/Naples/Okeechobee area. This position could lead to complex projects and growth in 2026.

Core Responsibilities:

• Site Supervision: Direct and coordinate field crews and diverse subcontractors (grading, paving, concrete) to ensure project milestones are met.
• Scheduling & Logistics: Develop "lookahead" schedules and coordinate the timely delivery of heavy equipment, tools, and materials (asphalt, gravel, pipe).
• Quality Control: Inspect work in progress to ensure it strictly conforms to blueprints, technical specifications, and municipal codes.
• Safety Enforcement: Facilitate site-specific safety programs, conduct weekly "toolbox talks," and ensure 100% compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
