Job summary

Clear Creek County is seeking an Equipment Operator II to operate a range of heavy equipment for road construction, snow removal, and maintenance under the supervision of the District Supervisor or Transfer Station Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma, journey-level skill, and at least three years of experience. Candidates must follow safety rules, perform inspections, and may be on-call or assist at the Transfer Station as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; journey-level skill in equipment operation.
• At least three years of experience in equipment operation.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with crew and supervisors.
• Ability to read grade stakes and understand basic road geometry.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of county hauling, construction, and maintenance equipment.
• Perform daily inspections and routine servicing.
• Check and report present or anticipated problems in work areas.
• Perform manual labor as part of construction and maintenance projects.
• May be on-call as required.
• Assist transfer station facilities with cash handling and related duties.
• Carry out other road and bridge duties as assigned.
